Sprinkle Studio

A custom cake designer who makes on-trend birthday and celebration cakes. The website needed to be as joyful as the product, without looking like a kids' party supply shop.

The brief

Sprinkle Studio's cakes are genuinely beautiful, trend-led, detailed, and designed for the Instagram age. The challenge was building a website that matched that energy without being chaotic or childish. The target customer is a parent planning a birthday who wants something special, not something generic. They're comparing options on their phone, probably on a Tuesday evening. The website needs to be fast, beautiful, and make ordering feel easy.

The brief: joyful and modern. Pastel but not babyish. Polished enough that parents trust the quality. Easy enough that they place an order without picking up the phone.

What was built

Confetti hero

Centred hero layout with a subtle CSS confetti animation (small coloured dots, very low opacity, so it feels like celebration without being distracting). The hero image sits below the headline as a wide rounded card and shows the product immediately.

Trending section

Four horizontally scrolling cards covering current cake trends (character cakes, number cakes, floral, sprinkle drip). Alternating pastel backgrounds. Shows range and keeps the page feeling current.

How it works

Four steps on a pink background section: Tell me about your cake → Quote within 24 hours → Confirm and pay deposit → Collect your creation. Numbered pink circles with a dotted connector line. Removes the anxiety of ordering a custom product, so the process feels clear and managed.

Flavour grid

Six flavour cards in a 3-column grid. Each has a colour dot indicating the flavour vibe. Adds personality and helps customers make a decision before they enquire, which means fewer back-and-forth messages.

Transparent pricing

No price table, just honest copy: cakes start from £80, prices vary by size and complexity, detailed quote provided before commitment. Builds trust without the rigidity of a fixed price list.

Design direction

Bubblegum pink, powder blue, mint, and pale gold, used sparingly as accents, not as wall-to-wall colour. The background stays warm white throughout. Playfair Display for headings (gives it elegance and weight), Nunito for body (rounded, friendly, approachable). The combination feels like a premium bakery Instagram account made into a website.
